Serenity Aqua Resorts will be the first luxury resort in Haiti, on the island of Hispaniola which is shared with Dominican Republic. Serenity Aqua Resorts is located on the southern Peninsula of Haiti within 4 miles of the historic city of Petit Goâve, the first capital of Haiti during its colonial period in the late 17th century. The city is also known as the final resting place of the only Haitian Emperor, Faustin Soulouque, who was the first and only black Emperor in the Western Hemisphere.
Petit Goave is just an hour from the capital Port-au-Prince by car and 15 minutes by plane. The location of the resort is secluded from the surrounding area with one road linking the resort to the rest of the island. With the resort built in an enclave, we will have greater control of the area and limit access to the community. The surrounding area is mostly agricultural land with about 1,000 people living off of the land. We anticipate the resort to be a significant employer in the region and support the local farmers by buying local fruits and vegetables.
The 320 acre development is located on a peninsula which embraces the north-western portion of the bay of Petit Goâve and provides spectacular views of the mountains close to the beach. The peninsula has 2 distinct white sand beaches with crystal clear water, one facing the ocean and the other in the bay on the south part of the peninsula By looking out into the ocean, our guests will have the view of ‘’La Gonave’’, an island in the bay of Port-au-Prince.
In compliance with our belief of protecting the environment, the resort will have its own energy plant and observe all rules and regulations to be an environmentally friendly destination.
With the vast amount of untouched beaches, extraordinary view of nearby mountains, we anticipate a segment of our guests to be Ecotourists. These “Ecoguests” will have access to some of the highest mountains for hiking, mountain climbing, rivers and waterfalls, and of course the clear blue ocean.
Serenity will stretch over 320 acres with 700 meters of white-sand beaches. The project will include:
